These sizes allow for 1/8" trim at top, bottom, and one side.
Keep live matter 3/8" from all sides that bleed. Perfect alignment
of type or design across gutter of two facing pages cannot be guaranteed.
Allow 1/8" safety at gutter of each page for type running across
gutter. Indicate trim on proof or mechanical. A ruled proof must be
supplied when critical positioning is required. |

by The Condé Nast Publications are TIFF/IT.P1, CT/LW, or raster-based
DCS2. |

| We will not accept any native
application files such as Quark, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Information
should be supplied on a Macintoshformatted JAZ, Zip, CD-ROM, or sent via
WAM!Net. Materials should include three files: final page (FP), continuous
tone (CT=12), and line work (LW=80). The CT file should comply with SWOP
standards between 200 and 400 dpi. LW files should be 2,400 dpi. The total
density should not exceed SWOP, which is 300%. Any 5th or spot color should
be in a separate file. (Please include a separate check list.) All required trapping must be included in the file. The black text should be merged with the LW: right reading, portrait mode only, 100% size, no rotations, standard
trim, and bleed marks in all separations. Use only postscript fonts. Truetype fonts
are unacceptable. Avoid use of Multiple Master fonts. Images for 4/C must be submitted as
final, highresolution CMYK files. Ads created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint,
or any other word processing program will NOT be accepted. All digital pages
should include a printout of contents of each disk supplied as well as correct
copy information for content and positioning. |

| Preferred Color Guidance: |
Please provide Kodak Approval,
CREO Spectrum, or Iris digital proofs for color guidance
on press. The supplied color guidance must meet all SWOP specifications
and must include a 6mm 5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% CMYK patch strip for
quality control. Number of proofs: 3. |

Split Runs and Regional Advertising: Both newsstand and regular subscription copies will be delivered into their proper areas, subject to a 5-10% variation allowable for mechanical tolerances or as may be required by local distribution patterns. Refer to Cond? Nast Advertising Area Map?January 2002. |

File and a copy of the insertion order must be sent to

Special Units: All special units, such as gatefolds, inserts, and multiple-page advertisements necessitating
special positioning and or other than normal printing, must be discussed in
advance with the Vanity Fair Production Department in order to establish mechanical
feasibility and rates. This information, along with due dates, print orders, sizes, and
shipping instructions, will be confirmed in writing. Advertising material is retained one
year following its last use. If not ordered returned, all material is then destroyed.
