Kim France is Lucky's founding editor. Her background differs from her counterparts' at fashion and beauty magazines because she did not rise through the fashion farm team. Instead, she worked at entertainment, news, city and women's magazines, developing the different perspective evident in Lucky.

Before Lucky, Ms. France was the editor-at-large for Spin and deputy editor of New York. She has been a staff writer for Sassy, Elle, and 7 Days and contributed to Vibe, Rolling Stone, Allure, The New York Times Book Review, Mademoiselle, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times Magazine and The Village Voice.

In 2004, Ms. France was named one of New York's " Most Powerful Women" and one of Crain's " 40 Under 40."
