These sizes allow for 1/8" trim at top, bottom, and one side. Keep live matter 3/8" from all sides that bleed. Perfect alignment of type or design across gutter of two facing pages
cannot be guaranteed. Allow 3/16" safety at gutter of each page for type running across gutter. Indicate trim on proof or mechanical. A ruled proof must be supplied when critical positioning is required.

Current file formats supported by Cond? Nast Publications are TIFF/IT.P1, CT/LW or raster-based DCS-2. |

Information should be supplied on a Macintosh formatted JAZ, Zip or CD-ROM. Materials should include three files: final page (FP), continuous tone (CT=12) and line work (LW=80). The CT file should comply with SWOP standards between 200 and 400 dpi. The total density should not exceed SWOP, which is 300%. Any 5th color or spot color should be in a separate file. (Please include a separate check list). All required trapping must be included in the file. The black text should be merged with the LW: right reading, portrait mode only, 100% size, no rotations, standard trim and bleed marks in all separations. Use only postscript fonts. Truetype fonts are unacceptable. Avoid use of Multiple Master fonts. Images for 4/C ads must be submitted as final, high-resolution, CMYK files. Ads created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint or any other word processing program will not be accepted.
All digital pages should include a printout of contents of each disk supplied as well as correct copy information for content and positioning.

| Preferred Color Guidance: |
Please provide Kodak Approval, CREO Spectrum or Iris digital proofs for color guidance on press. The supplied color guidance must meet all SWOP specifications and must include a 6mm 5%, 25%, 75% and 100% CMYK patch strip for quality control.
A set of two laser proofs (paginated) including the crop marks must be sent with materials. On bleed as and undersized non-bleed ads, provide separate ruled position proof showing trim.

Special Space Units: All units, such as gatefolds, requiring sheen inks, multiple-page advertisements necessitating special positioning or other-than-normal printing treatment, must be discussed in advance with the Gourmet Production Department in order to establish mechanical feasibility and rates.

Regional/Split Run Ads and Inserts
Subscription copies will be delivered to their proper subject area to within a 5% variance.
Newsstand regional advertising: Every best effort will be made to deliver regional ads and copysplits to the desired newsstand markets. Due to continuing changes in wholesale distribution patterns, regional newsstand delivery for inserts and copysplits cannot be fully controlled and therefore cannot be fully guaranteed to particular states. It is recommended that regional inserts and copysplits be done according to the 9 region Condé Nast Area map. |

Print Inserts:
Inserts require digital files and proofs as specified under Digital Ad Requirements.
Files, with two digital contract proofs and the insertion order must be
sent to:

The deadline for files is the 25th of the third month preceding the issue date. Advertisers
may only request extensions by contacting Beverly Lane directly, (212) 286-8459,
for all Condé Nast print inserts. All advertising material is retained for one year following last use. |

Two-Color Inking: In printing two-color advertisements, the publisher reserves the right to match the second color as accurately as possible by using process colors.

Advertising Material Held for One Year: Advertising material retained up to one year following use. If not ordered returned, all
