| OFFSET DIGITAL AD REQUIREMENTS |
 |
| Preferred File Format: |
Current file formats supported by Condé Nast Publications are: Vendor prepared TIFF/IT-P1, CT/LW or roster DCS2. |
 |
| We will not accept any native
application files such as Quark, Photoshop or Illustrator. Information should
be supplied on a Macintosh formatted JAZ, ZIP, CD-ROM, or sent via Wam!Net.
Materials should include three files: final page (FP), continuous tone (CT)
and line work (LW). The CT file should comply with SWOP standards between
200 and 400 dpi, LW files should be 2400 dpi. The total density should not
exceed SWOP, which is 300%. Any 5th or spot color should be in a separate
file. (Please include a separate check list). All required trapping must
be included in the file. The black text should be merged with the LW: right
reading portrait mode only, 100% size, no rotations, standard trim and bleed
marks in all separations. Use only postscript fonts. Truetype fonts are
unacceptable. Avoid use of Multiple Master fonts. Images for 4/C ads must
be submitted as final, high-resolution, CMYK files. Ads created in Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint or any other word processing program
will NOT be accepted. All digital pages should include a printout of contents
of each disk supplied as well as correct copy information for content and
positioning. |
 |
| Preferred Color Guidance: |
Please provide Kodak Approval, CREO Spectrum or Iris digital proofs for color guidance on press. The supplied color guidance must meet all SWOP specifications and must include a 6mm 5%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% CMYK patch strip for quality control. |
 |
| Number of proofs: |
3 single proofs. Black and white: 3 complete proofs |
 |
| Inking: |
Use standard SWOP inks and densities.
Contact Allure Production Department for detailed specifications. If these mechanical requirements are not met, The Condé Nast Publications will not guarantee the reproduction. Final for each color should include a standard ring/crosshair registration mark centered between bind and bleed edge for the head and foot, and centered on the face edge. The tip of each registration mark nearest to the live area must lie between actually touching the bleed line and not exceeding 1/8" away from the bleed. |
 |
| Special Units: |
All special units, such as gatefolds, inserts and multiple-page advertisements necessitating special positioning or other than normal printing must be discussed in advance with the Allure Production Department in order to establish mechanical feasibility and rates. This information, along with due dates, print orders, sizes and shipping instructions, will be confirmed in writing. Advertising material retained one year following its last use. If not ordered returned, all material is then destroyed. |
