Paige Rense joined Architectural Digest in 1970, and shortly thereafter was named Editor-in-Chief. Under her direction, the Los Angeles-based magazine has become the world’s leading design publication, with a total audience of nearly five million readers. She is also the founding editor of
Bon Appétit.

Paige is a frequent lecturer and has hosted symposiums at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Museum of the City of New York, as well as at other cultural institutions.

In recognition of her contributions to journalism and design, Paige has received numerous awards, among them: Los Angeles Times Woman of the Year (1976); The Pacifica Award for the Southern California Resources Council (1978); the Dallas Market Center Editorial Award (1978); the Chicago Design Resources Service to the Profession Golden Award (1982); the AGORA Award from the Marketplace in Philadelphia (1982); the Outstanding Professionals in Communications Award (1982); the National Home Fashions League Trailblazer Award (1983); Interior Design Hall of Fame (1985); the Muses Woman of the Year Award (1983); the Distinguished Services Award, Resources Council, Inc. (1988); Woman of International Accomplishment (1991); Spirit of Achievement Award (1995); the Pratt Institute Founders Award (1997); American Academy of Achievement (2000); the Museum of Arts & Design Achievement Award (2006).
